Beautiful recycled rimu chopping boards for people who want a chopping board with a "bit of substance". Not your normal piece of 18mm thick timber that will potentially warp after a little bit of use, or move around the bench as you get into your serious vegetable chopping… Our boards are designed to stay put!
Also, these boards are not made from random timber offcuts glued together but are created from large, solid and original pieces of reclaimed timber … so, like the original building they were part of, they are “built to last”.
Inspired by the boards our friends, family and us love to actually use in our kitchens, they are finished "Au Naturale" with no oils, waxes, polyurethane or other preparations placed on them. Just great pieces of timber with fantastic grains to admire. Simple, solid, dependable, natural.
As this product is made from natural timber, the timber grain and colour will vary. They may also have left-over nail holes in the side or bottom, or other imperfections from the original timber.
Sizes available are based on the original timber sizes and the bigger the timber we start from, the bigger the board and the more difficult it is to obtain. Our currently available sizes (approximate as finished timber sizes may vary a little) are:
Medium:
300mm long x 180mm wide x 30-35mm thick
400mm long x 180mm wide x 30-35mm thick
Large:
350mm long x 220mm wide x 30-35mm thick
450mm long x 220mm wide x 30-35mm thick
Extra Large:
400mm long x 250mm wide x 30-35mm thick
500mm long x 250mm wide x 30-35mm thick
They are all available with or without juice grooves and are made In New Zealand from recycled materials.
